Fear of Heights

"Maximus, I may or may not have admitted this to you before...But, I'm afraid of heights."

"Oh, Kooky. You shouldn't be afraid of that. You're a chicken and that's like a bird, right? So, you should be able to fly."

"If I could give you one piece of advice Kooky, I'd tell you this: FACE YOUR FEARS!"

"So, what should I do, Maximus?"

"Let me think about that for a minute, Kooky. I'll figure out something."

"Kooky!!! I've got it! I know JUST the thing that's going to help you."

"Ummmm...Maximus??? What are you doing?"

Kooky, I've said it once, and I'll say it a hundred times more...Trust Me! Do you see up above?"

Yesssss...I saw what's above and I don't like where this is going!!!"

Kooky...there's only one way that you can conquer this fear of heights."

"Come on, let's get up!"

"I can't believe I'm listening to you, Maximus."

"This won't take long, Kooky. On the count of three, you'll have a different perspective on things.

1.....2.....

3!

"M-A-X-I-M-U-S!!! What are you trying to do to Meeeeeee?"

Kooky...I'm going to walk you through this. Listen to me. I want you to swing slowly from each hanging ball until you get to the other side."

"EEEEEK!"

"You DID it!"

"Maximus!!! I want down!!! NOW!!!"

"Hold on, Kooky. Wait for me. I'll help you down."

"Okay, you can let go."

"I'm so dizzy right now. I can't even see straight!"

"Whoo hoo! Way to go, Kooky!"

Maximus...I don't ever, ever, EVVVVVV-ER want to do that AGAIN!!!"

"Oh, Kooky...I KNOW you'll thank me someday!"

Happy day!

Oh my dear friend, YOU GOT ME GOING HERE WITH LAUGHTER AT 1:30AM!!! I just woke up from the couch and thought I better blog NOW because tomorrow I have to RUSH to finalize things for my ART SHOW at 9:30AM TOMORROW!

THis is my first art show and I have been preparing for two weeks EVERY DAY for it! Today was a whirlwind of final projects and so that explains no new blog post!

THIS POST IS HILARIOUS! I had not seen Kooky for a while and I can see why; now that Maximus has built some muscle, Kooky is very SUSPICIOUS of what he will get him into!!!! Oh dear, I tell you, YOU ARE HILARIOUS!!!

I wish you a splendid holiday season with your families! AND YOU HAVE NEVER COOKED A TURKEY? I have THE BEST way to make a tender turkey that we never ever have to carve. The meat literally falls off the bone.

ENJOY AND BIG HUGS! Anita

Sweet Heidi!

I BET you are going to have a fabulous Thanksgiving no matter if you make the turkey or not. With Maximus and your family around you, it will be so cozy!

My turkey is fabulous, but it is non-traditional. I have to go shopping and see if I can find my boneless, skinless turkey breast that I:

marinate over night in apple cider vinegar and water.
rub with olive oil, garlic and other spices and herbs

then bake until so moist it falls apart. NO CARVING necessary!

ENJOY! Anita

Heidi,
What a wonderful story, and Maximus is so precious. His hair is getting longer? My son's hair was long at that age too, and I used to love it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Maximus. Give him a big hug from Sheri at Red Rose Alley.

Okay, you had me laughing at line 1, bursting at the seams at line 2, and uncontrollably in tears the rest of the way, until I proceeded toward the end, and suddenly I felt that special tug at my heart. This is perfect, Heidi. One of my favs by far.
MUAH!!!!!
Tell Kooky that at least he's not a turkey. ;)
XOXO's,
Marcia
