Fun in the Sun

A couple weeks ago we had some pretty warm weather.

So, I made the effort to get us outdoors as much as possible.

One of those days, me and the boys went over to my parents' house. My mom was planting some flowers, so Maximus was eager to help!

Santino looked on from the swing on the back patio. By the way, Santino is so over this thing. So, that's the last time we'll be using it.

Maximus LOVES to work.

Although, at this age...kids have a way of making even "work" FUN!

I needed to run to the store and since Santino is in that stage where he cries if he's not with Mama or Papa, I took him with me.

He fell asleep on the way to the store and woke up when we returned. Thank goodness, because he needed to nap!

When we got back, Maximus was helping Grandma with seeding some bare patches in their lawn.

He had fun getting his hands dirty.

Every time he dropped garden mulch on the area that he was working on, he'd brush his hands together to remove the dirt.

Santino enjoyed the grass.

Time for a wheelbarrow ride.

And lunch!

Check out Santino grabbing Maximus' arm. I love how he's looking at Maximus. He LOVES his big brother so much!

Good times...

Oooooooooooooh! So sweet! Man I look fat! Good thing I did a grape juice diet today! Organic Concord grape juice from Trader Joe's. Maximus sure was a good helper that day. Fun! You tell the story so sweetly, Heidi. Those boys are so blessed to have such a good Mom!!

Oh Mom!!! You are your worst critic! You're way to hard on yourself. :)

That was a fun day. And thanks...I feel BLESSED to be their Mom.

Oh HEIDI!!!!!! First of all, tell you mom HI! I need to email her back; we were having the most lovely conversation! THEN I have to tell you...I am reading "The Waiting." My eyes hurt this morning from the weeping I did last night. I love it.

Mr. Maximus is one RENAISSANCE boy! Look at how you can see the joy and focus on his gardening duties! He is truly going to be a man's man. How I enjoy your world my friend! Much love, Anita

Okay, I just have to tell your mom thank you for teaching me something new today. I too, have bare patches in my lawn, and had no idea what to do with them. (Nobody will EVER accuse me of having a green thumb - lol.) So, thank you for the lawn advice. I shall now go patch the spots in my grass. :-)

And next... the boys! Oh my gosh they are getting so big! And so adorable! I can't wait to see them this weekend!

ps - your mom doesn't look fat, she looks beautiful!

Nothing like good hard work in the garden, then to sit down to a good lunch with the appetite of a man! teehee...Good morning dearest Heidi!

Thanks for coming by again to visit. Let me tell you, I cannot put The Waiting down. If you see Cathy LaGrow at church, tell her she has a fan out in Minneapolis! I only have about 3 chapters to go because my eyes give out on me after about 4 hours of reading, but today, I plan on snuggling up with the book before Ruben arrives late this evening. Thank you my friend! And I will take a photo of Lake Calhoun so you can see where Minka lived. XOXOX

Your mom's yard looks so lovely and perfectly manicured! I can only imagine how much fun she has with the boys... You're very blessed.
So happy I came by!

Heidi! I just now saw your comment, and no, I don't have another email! Oh, I wonder if you could copy and paste onto fresh new email, if that would work?

I tell you, I "miss" Minka and her family, now that I've finished the book!!!!!!!

See if you can try to resend again!

Oh, these boys are so precious. It made me smile seeing Maximus helping Grandma in the garden. Your mom's lawn is so green and groomed, it looks great! Santino is getting so big! I'm sure they are going to love it this summer with all the water fun and fourth of July coming up. Yes, these are good times for you, Heidi.

love,
