The Waiting

I have to tell you guys about a book that I just read, written by a sweet gal I know, Cathy LaGrow. It's the most AMAZING true story called The WaitingI encourage you to read this heart wrenching, incredible journey of a woman, who is the author's grandmother. This story chronicles the life of a young girl, (named Minka,) who loved her baby girl from the moment she was born up until the time she was first reunited with her. This reunion didn't take place until 77 years later! And get this, Minka is alive today at almost 103 years old!!!

Just so you know, I'm not being compensated in any way for this post...I'm just so excited about this book and proud of Cathy's endeavor in telling this true story.

Last week, my Mom and I got our copies signed by Cathy. She is an up and coming author. I won't be surprised when this book reaches the status of New York Times Best Seller!

Cathy & Me

Already, there has been some great press, including an interview of Minka, her daughter, grandson and Cathy on the Today Show. You can see the segment here.

To stay connected, be sure to "like" Cathy's facebook page
here. By liking it, you can get the latest updates on her book, information on book signings and future projects. In addition, there are free book giveaways from time to time.

You can check out Cathy LaGrow's website, here.

Also, If you are on goodreads, check out her page here.

This book does not disappoint. The story will stick with you forever! I KNOW that we're going to see more writing, down the road, from this talented mama of two boys.

Right now Amazon has this book for a really good price. You can purchase it here.

xoxo

Wonderful that you posted this about Cathy LaGrow's wonderful writing of the book,THE WAITING. It is a book that is so beautifully written, and paints a picture of what is happening. You feel like you are there, like watching a movie. What a movie this would make! Maybe???
Thank you Heidi for writing so beautifully yourself, about Cathy's book. Mom

Very interesting. I love life based novels. Yay! Great post, my friend.

Glad you liked my ensemble. I just am getting more and more into my scarves and dangling earrings since the hair is minimal! Just had some fun with that post.

Thanks for all of your love and support dear friend. I always know I will read sweet words from you each time. ♥, Renae

I am in tears, watching that excerpt from the Today Show my friend. If the joy and tears and HOPE can result in such a reunion, I can only imagine the reunion I will have with my momma and dad one day. THis was such a blessing for me,thank you a million times over!

Heidi,
This sounds like such a good book, and one that I think I could really get into. Reunions like this brings tears of joy and gladness to my heart.

Thank you for your birthday wishes today. I'm so glad that I have friends like you to share this special day with.

love,
~Sheri

hello Sweet friend, Heidi!

I just read Anita's sweet words and have to admit I haven't watched the videos because my techy son in law messed them up of late (trying to update my computer) and I haven't felt well enough to get them working {crawling under my desk, in the hunch position with a tender chemo tummy etc etc} to wrangle them and untangle them to the point of fixing them so I can view videos. {so the jury is still out on the Today Show thing} lol

But thanks so much for liking my post with my most favorite Co-Host yet, my sweet Handsome Man / Husband Man = HM. You asked me once, I believe if HM was my husband.

I'm not sure why I am so name-code unfriendly on blogs but I am. I think it is my "old school" training on my first computers in the stone ages, when Apple and IBM were haggling over identity codes and privacy and such, is where it came from. I don't know.

Anyway hug M and S and Y and R and y'all have a wonderful weekend! (notice the code initials, lol?) Oh and ps, I am up late cuz I took a stoned-out / highly medicated nap after I got home from chemo today, and now I am wide awake! But that's ok. I had to wake to take some meds that are going to perk me up for a few hours, then back to bed and then my weekend will really begin.

♥, Renae
