The View According to Maximus

Over the past several months, Maximus has been taking some pictures. Most of these shots are straight out of the camera, (occasionally I'll crop them). It's really interesting to see what he comes up with.
He caught this shot of Santino back in June

Our living room with his beloved basketball hoop

He takes lots of pictures of toys

My pretty rose bush that M gave me

Santino eating

An orange balloon

His insects and a snake

Oranges & Apples in the fridge

A selfie of his legs. Oh my goodness, Maximus! You better clean up that mess! haha...

A photo of Papa

Blue sky & clouds

View through the screen

Since he enjoys the camera so much, he now uses an old camera of mine. He asks lots of questions about the different settings. The other day he really wanted to know more about the "self timer" setting and how that worked, so we set up the camera and took some photos of the two of us.

This one I really like. He looks so sweet. I think I found the secret for getting him to take pictures with me now. Yay!

Happy day!

Hello Heidi,

Your son has the making of a photographer soon! It's really interesting to witness his captures. I like the texture of the photo taken from indoor and his selfie the most! They're very natural.

It's also good to have a glimpse of you again even through your blog. You're still very pretty and thank you for your kind words!

Regards, Ida

You DID find the secret my friend. You ENGAGED him and "empowered" him to learn by doing. This is so special, so impressive that a child his age is interested in the art of photography that requires patience of mind and nimbleness of fingers! That orange balloon shot, the windows, the one of papa, of you then the self-timer photos.....I would have loved to see his face when he was able to see his photos...keep this up. You never know what else you will help him discover! Oh Heidi, I send you hugs my friend! Anita

Bravo, Maximus! Just look at all those beautiful smiles and colors.
Heidi, back in the 70's Paul Anka released a song titled Times of Your Life, (one of my favorites) which Kodak used for their TV commercial, and to this day I cry whenever I hear that song. Remember these times of your life, my friend. They are gold.
Thank you for stopping by my page and not only reading but commenting. My visitors these days seem to be readers only and it's nice when I receive a kind note.
xoxo

You are such a great mom, Heidi. When my kids were little I would have never dreamed of letting them use my camera for fear of them breaking it. I love that you let him explore and allow him to use his creativity. What great shots M took! He has quite the eye. I mean who takes pictures of oranges and apples in the refrigerator bin? And yet, it's such a perfect shot. The selfie shot of his legs and toys reminds me of a professional photographer's shots that I saw the other day. On his hikes through beautiful places, he sits inside his tent and takes a picture looking outside of the tent flap showing his legs. Here's a link to some of his pictures: http://www.sunnyskyz.com/blog/431/He-Goes-Hiking-And-Takes-Pictures-Of-His-Morning-Views-I-Am-So-Jealous
Show M those pics. He'll love them.
Miss you, sweet friend!
