Halloween Photos

Halloween was fun! (I'll warn you...there's a lot of photos here). Santino dressed up as Curious George & Maximus was The Man in the Yellow Hat. We ended up going to an awesome Harvest Festival at a local church. They had music, food, candy, games, inflatable bounce houses, pony rides, and so much more!

Maximus had a blast on the Noah's Ark Inflatable. Here he is going down the slide.

Santino was a little young for the event, but he took it all in and enjoyed running around when he got the chance.

Prior to the event, we stopped by my parents' house and the boys got to trick or treating there.

Grandpa & Grandma spoiled them with candy and Burgerville gift cards.

This was the first year the boys dressed up. Last year Maximus did not want to. I had a costume, but he refused and told us that when he was a little older he would do it.

A couple days ago, I had the boys dress up again in their costumes so I could get some more photos.

For The Man in the Yellow Hat costume, I ordered the yellow pants and yellow shirt from amazon. The boots were hand me downs and they worked well with the outfit.

The rest I made - the hat, tie & belt. Thanks to Pinterest, I got help for the hat here. Instead of felt, I used a canvas type duck cloth, along with a heavyweight iron on interfacing to make the hat stiffer. For the belt, I used webbing. And for the black on the hat, I used the same webbing and hot glued it around the hat. The tie was pretty easy to do. I found a tutorial and pattern here. I made the tie about 1 1/2 inches longer than the pattern, and used the same fabric as the hat. The black polka dots I drew on with a permanent sharpie pen.

The boys were checking out the candy they got.

Love this little monkey!

I picked up the monkey costume at Costco. The long sleeve shirt that Santino wore was one that M wore as a little guy.

It was so fun dressing them up!

And amazingly Santino kept his hat on, as long as he was distracted by something.

I bought gift bags (2 for $1) at the Dollar Store and then printed out the boys' initials in Circus font and attached with double stick tape.

This guy is growing up so fast! Love him!

"Monkeying" around

I can't wait until next year!

Happy day!

Oh Heidi, I am smiling and laughing and grinning from ear to ear this morning as I am delighted in seeing THESE TWO MONKEYS! HAhAHAHHAHHAHH - that yellow outfit is fabulous....the HAT??? How HOW HOW? I must visit that link to see how you'd even get that shape. It was perfect! Teee.....I was thinking of an old cartoon I watched where the horse wore a ten gallon hat like this with a black dot in the front to signify a bullet hole...teee

They had PONY rides there? AWESOME! Did the Man in the Yellow suit ride his steed? That monkey costume, some of the pictures show just the monkey face and it's hilarious....

Thank you my friend for coming over to visit. Do you know that I was thinking about you this morning (this happens often with blogger pals) and then I go to my blog and see you there! I bet you've had a busy month so far.

I hope your preparations for Thanksgiving will be delicious, memorable and fun. Much love sista! Anita

Heidi,
These are the best Halloween costumes - you did a great job on them! That big yellow hat make me laugh. Maximus and Santino look adorable in their first Halloween costumes. What fun they had! Thank you for letting me know about your post - I didn't want to miss this. You have two bundles of joy, that's for sure.

Happy November!

love,

Heidi, I can't leave your place without a tear or two of joy. :)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the costumes you chose for the boys. PERFECT! Of course, I'm pretty partial to that YELLOW outfit. Fav color.
Precious memories.

Not sure you knew, but I had to move my page again due to malware. :( Was a nightmare, but I'm still here.
Stay in touch, lovely, especially during the holidays.
