Bird Feeders

We got a Finch Feeder and put some Nyger Thistle in it. After about a week or so, the birds are coming like crazy!

This guy is kind of reddish/orange-ish...

I can't forget the hummingbirds. They really go through this sugar water! I love these little guys!

Taking a rest...

These Yellow Finches and are my favorite. It's so hard to sneak up and take a picture of them. They know when I'm waiting and watching for them...maybe I need to call my Secret Agent Mother-in-Law, LaLa to put up some sort of trap. Just kidding!!! I would never hurt them, but I would love to get a really close up shot. I guess that's a good excuse for a newer camera with a better zoom. Yes, I think that's the answer to this problem. Thanks for letting me talk this out. :)

Happy Day!

It's Finally Blooming

I'm so excited....Several days ago, the tulip buds started popping up!

Herman had to be moved a while ago....he started getting a little claustrophobic in the back of the container...now he can see again!

Then, a couple days ago, the first flower bloomed. I am really surprised at the color. The package said it was supposed to be Ebony & Ivory. I thought it would be a dark purplish color, but am happy with the red!!!

Hope you're enjoying some sunshine. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather that's due this weekend! We are supposed to hit 80 degrees on Monday! WOW!!!

Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN...HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! Romans 5:7-9

Have a Blessed Easter!

It's What's for Lunch...

I LOVE Hummus and Flatbread. So, a while back, I thought I'd just add more stuff (toppings) to it. This way it's more of a meal. I'm calling this Hummus Pizza, but you can call it whatever you like.

You'll need some Flatbread. This is Greek Style Whole Wheat.

Spread some Hummus on the Flatbread.

Top with Mushrooms.

Slap on some Tomatoe Slices.

Now add Avocados.

Slice it up and serve. Okay...well, I'm actually going to go eat the whole thing. YUM!!!
Until next time...Have a Happy Day!

The Pond

The weather has been beautiful for the last several days. Today has been mostly overcast with a few breaks of sunshine, here and there.

I love this pond...it's across from where we live and is a great place to go and take some pictures. I had a chance to snap a few today, while Rob was at the Dentist.

The Dentist office is in the background of this photo on the right hand side. I was wondering if the Dentist and Rob could see me taking pictures. I should have gone up to the window and waved. Just kidding...

I think this is a Canadian Goose. I looked it up on Wikipedia.com and it appears to fit the description. Here's what they have to say: "The Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) is a
goose belonging to the genus Branta, which is native to North America."

Flowers by a restaurant near the pond.

These look like plain ol' ducks to me. Well, that's really not an accurate statement, because I learned in my very short research online that there are different Scientific Classifications, which include; Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family & Genus. It just gets too complicated for my brain! ha, ha...

I love the Weeping Willow

Closer view

This place is really pretty anytime of the year!

I'm thinking it would be a good place just to walk around...Duh!!! Why didn't I think of that before?? Perhaps it's because of all of the waterfowl and having to watch where you step, if you know what I mean.

Regardless, I so need to get back into the exercise mode!

Happy Day!

Sunday Sunshine!

What an absolutely beautiful day today! It is Sunday, so that means church, but we had a couple of things to do beforehand. Rob needed to go to an Auto Supply Store to get a chrome valve stem cap for one of his tires. One apparently fell off recently. He ended up replacing all of them, otherwise they wouldn't match. Let me tell you, that I'm so thankful to have a husband that takes care of the cars and keeps them in tip top shape! The other thing we needed to do was get gas because we were running on empty! We had plenty of time still before church started, so I took my camera in hopes of taking some photos....

Driving down the freeway...Note - Rob was driving, so you can rest assured that I wasn't multi-tasking today. :)

So nice to see our flag waving in the sky...This is really close to Rob's work, btw.

This was at the Auto Store...I thought I'd make some good use of time instead of going into the place with him. Let's just say, this is not my favorite type of store.

Cruising down the road...Oh, what a nice day for a bike ride!

Here's where we got gas. It's about the cheapest in town for unleaded - real close to our church.

Blue Sky!!!

Traveling down the road to church...

More Sky...

I Doctored, (used photoshop) on this picture a bit because it didn't turn out very good SOOC (Straight out of Camera). I just love all of the daffodils around this tree.

Love the white fence and the Cherry Blossom Tree....

Here's a picture of our church...I was taking a lot of pictures out of the sunroof of the car. I was in my chair with my seat belt on, so don't be calling the cops or anything...

Another biker...

This land use to be totally open - no trees.

Another view...

Oops....this is what you get for a camera that is on it's last leg...or maybe it needs more memory or...I don't know...It's not the fasted snapping camera, so you occasionally find that objects get in the way - hence the car! Ha, ha...oh, little did they know that they were going to be on my blog. :)

Who said dandelions are weeds? I think they're still pretty.
Tree behind Rob's parking spot...

Church was so good! The Katinas were there and sang beautifully! We bought their latest CD. They are involved with the events of the upcoming movie, "The Cross." You can listen to their song, "Carry the Cross." Just click on the below link and watch them on the youtube video. They also have over 100 songs that you can listen to if you scroll down the page to "Sound Click" on the right hand side. Pretty cool! I like song #05 - Praise & #45 - Trading My Sorrows and many others...you'll have to check them out! They sing a lot of praise songs that you're probably used to hearing and singing in church too!

The Squirrel

I looked outside this morning and noticed a squirrel prancing around my flowers. Well, more like he was up to no good. He got up on some of the flower pots and looked like he was going to start digging up a storm. I don't mind squirrels so much, although I've heard that they are just rats with bushy tails. When I think of that, yikes...it gives me the creeps, because I'm terrified of rats! If I saw one, I would be like Velcro to the ceiling...really...they scare me!!!

Anyway...I thought I'd try to capture some pictures of the squirrel before this critter got away or did any damage to the flowers. Most of the pictures turned out blurry, so I only have a couple to show you. I'm not sure if it's because he was moving too fast or if my camera is on it's last leg. I dropped it a couple of months ago. (The camera that is)....

I am referring to the squirrel as, "he." I'm not sure why, probably because boys are more rambunctious than girls. Don't you think?

Is he digging or just smelling the flowers?

He's up on the railing of our patio

_______________________________________________________________________

Several years back we had a squirrel that visited quite often. My husband called him Ritchie. We name things..it's just something we do...Anyway, I don't believe this is the same squirrel. Ritchie appears more brown in color.

Some of these photos that Rob caught were pretty cool. He got so close to Ritchie...it's a good thing he didn't bite! (I should clarify that it's good that Ritchie didn't bite Rob, not the other way around)...ha, ha...

Eating away...

Looks like he's ready to hop onto the flower basket

On the edge...

Okay...this one is kind of cute, with its little paws together. Are they called paws?

This almost looks like a statue

This one reminds me of a gargoyle. I HATE gargoyles. They are evil and scare me! Yikes...I hope I don't give any of you nightmares...

Until next time...

Happy Day!
