1 Day Left to VOTE

Thanks to all of you who have voted for the Caption Contest. If you haven't voted yet, there is still time; But hurry, there is only 1 day to go.

Vote for the best caption here. Toby is ahead, but let's see if he can win by a landslide! His caption is, “I thought they only had face offs in hockey.” If he wins, he'll receive 4 free tickets to a Portland Timbers Game (Professional Soccer Team).

Here are a few photos of Toby from the soccer blog. He's the goal keeper!!!

Whoo Hoo! Thanks for all of your support!

Caption Contest Voting for my Nephew

My nephew, who is an excellent soccer player has a chance to win 4 tickets to a Portland Timbers game, a Professional Soccer Team in town.

Here's how it works. If you haven't already done this, click here and it will take you to a blog where you can vote for your favorite caption. I'm hoping you will vote for the one that Toby wrote; His entry was “I thought they only had face offs in hockey.”

If he gets the most votes he'll win the tickets! Voting will be open for one week.

And EVERYONE CAN VOTE: Grandparents. Cousins. Neighbors. etc. So please help me help Toby to get those votes.

Thank you,

You think it's hot now?

With the hot weather we've been having lately, here's a little something to cool you off...

Last year's snow storm!

Snowgirl...

Poor little Herman was almost buried up to his eyeballs in this shot!

So, next time you think it's too hot, don't fear...winter is just around the corner!

Lunch

Yesterday my parents took me to lunch. Thank you so much!

Here's my Mom & Dad...and yes, they are as nice as they look!

We had great service at the restaurant, because my sister-in-law was our server. Ain't she so young and pretty?!

I wanted to throw in a couple random shots of the lighting. I had fun playing around with some of these pix. Thanks for letting me indulge.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Flowers...

Last night, Rob and I were over at my parents house. While we were there, I had a chance to take a few quick pictures of their flowers.

As I've said before, orange (at this point in time) is my favorite color. These Zinnia's are absolutely gigantic and beautiful!

I love the mix of hot pink and orange together!

My Mom made this hanging basket. It's amazing how big it gets! My parents have a watering system hooked up to the baskets, so they get watered automatically in the morning and evening. They actually have a total of 3 baskets on their back patio.

The smaller, but rounder basket is filled with Impatiens, Crystal Palace Lobelia, Bacopa & Allysum.

My Mom plants tons of flowers each year. I'm amazed at how big the baskets get!

Look for more pictures of flowers in the weeks to come. I need to get over there again and take some more!

Before we left, we saw a deer and her baby in their back yard. The photos I took didn't turn out good, so I didn't save them. My parents live in the city, but with all of the newer construction going on, the deer have no place to go. They are getting pushed out of their natural habitat and have been eating many of the flowers, (especially roses) at my parent's house. I feel bad for the deer AND for the flowers...All sorts of things have been done to deter the deer from coming around, but it seems like they are here to stay - at least for now. What to do?

Until next time.... happy day!

Birthday Pictures

We celebrated Rob's Birthday at his parents house. Here he is opening presents....he looks a little puzzled...

Speaking of being puzzled, we broke out a 2,000 piece puzzle. Oh, how I love puzzles. They are so addicting! By the way, that is Rob's Dad concentrating there.

The rest of these are just kind of random shots that I took while we were there...I'm into random lately...LaLa has great decorating style!

I couldn't resist taking some photos outside as well....

Finally, one last picture...

Okay...I know this is strange, but I thought it was so pretty...almost looks like a flower...ha ha...don't touch though - you'll get burned!

Have a happy Friday!

Fun...

Last week, when I was at LaLa's, I got to hang out with a couple of my nephew's. They are sweet boys and very cute to boot!

Here's Tanner with squirt guns in BOTH hands!!!

And here is Panda & Austin. Panda is the dog by the way. It's actually my niece's dog. Panda looks like a little statue.

Me with the boys...I must be boring them to sleep...

I don't like my squished face in this photo, but I had to include it because the kids are just so cute!

And finally, LaLa with the kids. She's having fun!

She gave me permission to reveal her identity...shhhh...Remember, I told you she was a Secret Agent?? ha, ha...

Hope you're having a great weekend!
