I Take It Back!!!

So the results are in and the verdict is that I’m keeping Rob! Thanks for playing along. It was fun to read all of the comments. There is no way I could give him away!

It was asked why I had leftover coffee filters to get rid of, in the first place. Good question (and LONG story,) so I’ll try to give you the short version. I’m not sure if that’s possible with ME, but I’ll try…We bought a new coffee maker that used the basket style filter. In addition, we purchased a permanent filter along with the paper filters. Using the permanent filter, we were getting a lot of coffee grounds in our coffee…Ewh! The paper one’s worked better, but the coffee maker had its other flaws. AGGRAVATIONS is more like it!!! So, we ended up returning it, but kept the paper filters. We found a different coffee maker that is WAY better and those paper filters didn't work for the new unit.

Another question was asked if Rob was handy. The answer is, YES! His momma (LaLa) taught him well. This boy can cook, clean, do laundry and then some! Oh, he is an excellent decorator too, but he’s the macho type, so don’t tell him I told you!!! He has also taken over paying ALL of the bills, which is a HUGE burden off my shoulders! I feel so blessed to have him as my husband!

Do we argue and fight at times? YES! Does he ever drive me crazy? YES! Do I ever drive him crazy? (Never…ha, ha…yeah, right!) The answer is: YES…YES…YES!!! BUT, I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else! I love him!

Okay…I’m off the sappy wagon now…ha ha…I have a sarcastic sense of humor if you haven’t noticed…

Wives, understand and support your husbands by submitting to them in ways that honor the Master. Husbands, go all out in love for your wives. Don't take advantage of them.

One Time Giveaway!

Here's the prize...It's my husband!

We have some left over, unused coffee filters that we no longer need, so I was joking with my husband, (Rob) that I could give them away on my blog. He said, "Why don't you put my picture on there and give me away?"

He has a good sense of humor!

ANY TAKERS?

3 Months to Go!!!

Can you believe it? Christmas is officially 3 months away! This year has flown by so quickly. Does time really go faster as you get older?

Here's a little something sparkley to get you in the mood. Okay, I know it's still a little early, but frankly, I was looking for something to blog about.

This was a picture I took at LaLa's house last year. Don't you love these decorations?

Merry Christmas!

Sunrise

This is a picture of a sunrise I took in early February of this year. I love the colors. God is such an AMAZING artist!

Praise the Lord! Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere—from east to west—praise the name of the Lord. For the Lord is high above the nations; his glory is higher than the heavens. Who can be compared with the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people! He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the Lord! Psalm 113:1-9 (New Living Translation)

No worries...

It's so easy for me to fret and worry about things. I love these verses:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)

Have a worry free weekend!

Rock On...

One of my favorite things to do is go for walks at the beach and collect rocks. This time, we came home with a TON of them. I was determined to find the “right” container, and place them in the bathroom.

You know, when you have that certain something in mind, so you venture out shopping, “in search of” that item? You spend way too much time looking and trying to picture something that might work. But, because the store(s) don’t have exactly what you had in mind, you settle for something else, bring it home, and decide that it doesn’t look good. So then you return it and start again! Aaahhh…sometimes it gets exhausting! Well, this was one of those times! It took a total of 4 containers and many trips to the store(s) to find the container that was just right.

Here’s the end result…

Oh, but wait…I wasn’t quite satisfied with it. It appeared that the rocks were filled to the brim, like I was hoarding them or something. So, I removed some of them and Rob helped me rearrange the top layer to be a little bit below the rim of the container. I feel better about it now.

What do you think looks best? FULL or JUST BELOW? Or, maybe I shouldn’t ask. You may have a totally different idea and then I’ll have to start this whole process again!

Thanks for your help! (well, maybe)….ha ha

Sidewalk Art

I couldn't resist taking a picture of a stepping stone imbedded in the sidewalk on our recent trip to the beach.

Isn't this cool? I wish we would have walked the streets a bit more, so I could have shot more photos. I researched and found out more information about these stepping stones. They were part of an Urban Renewal project for the City. Marsha, the owner of Glass Confusion, was commissioned by the city to make these fused glass and cement stepping stones for the sidewalks in the Oceanlake District. Check out her website, here. She has lots of different and interesting glass items!

Oh, and a special thank you to Tess, who I talked to on the phone at Glass Confusion. She was able to give me the scoop on this project and gave me permission to post these photos. Also, she'll be updating Glass Confusion's website and will be posting more pictures in the near future.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

When you can't see what's in front of you...

There's something about fog that is so mysterious or mystyifing. I like it, but not so much when I'm driving. I remember once being home from college and driving back to school at night with my best friend. The fog on the freeway was so thick, I could barely see 10 ft in front of me. She taught me a good lesson that day...She said, look at the white line on the side of the road...let that be your guide. It really helped me stay in my lane, but I was still nervous about what was down the road.

Isn't that like life sometimes? It's hard to focus and stay on the road that we are traveling down...the everyday tasks or live changing events. It's scary when you can't see what's ahead of you. I am learning to trust that Jesus will direct my steps. He just wants us to take one step at a time in faith and He'll light our pathway.

He'll be that white line that I will follow...

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16 (NIV)

Happy day!

Some Random Beach Photos

I like random pictures. If it's something different, has texture or color or is somewhat unusual, it excites me even more. Here are some from our Beach trip...

Sign of Autumn. Doesn't this seem odd, but interesting at the same time? A leaf changing color by the seashore.

We had a bite to eat at a restaurant, in Lincoln City...You're looking at the once claimed, shortest river in the World ~ The "D River."

Here's the underside of the bridge. Random...I know...but I love it. (Call it rust, algae, whatever...I think it's pretty.)

Be sure to look up!

Retaining Wall/Fence...Has a dessert feel to it...Not what you'd expect at the Beach, huh?

Close up shot...love the color and the texture...

Stones/rocks underneath the bridge.

Cool to see life growing out of old driftwood...

Another view of the D River...

Random, because I don't think Rob even realizes that he's holding my purse for me. Do you see it?

Look closer! ha ha...btw. I asked him if I could post these.

Watch out, the Home Shopping Network may be calling him to showcase purses. Ha, ha...Rob, I must say, you were a good sport!

Until next time...

Anniversary...

Today is my Anniversary! Yep, I've been married for 13 years. This year, it looks like they decided to declare it a National Holiday (Labor Day)...ha ha...

I met Rob when I was about 12 years old. No, I didn't start dating him until another 12 years later. Long story, but he was friends of my two older brothers. Never in a Million years would I have imagined that I would marry him. I had a big crush on him as a little girl...ha ha...Like I said, it's a long story, but I'm so thankful that the Lord brought us together. I love him very much!

Happy Anniversary to you, Rob!

Some Beach Photos

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to the beach. It was beautiful weather...in the mid to high 60's. There was some wind, but overall a great time of year to go see God's AMAZING creation!

You're never too old to write in the sand!

There are a couple people out there that LOVE the Coast....so here are some pictures for them!

You wanted me to say "Hi" from you, Shirley!

And to my good friend, Cindy in NC!

For now, I'll leave you with these...there will be more to come!

The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. Psalm 33:6-8

Back from Vacation!

My husband and I spent some time at the beach recently. We took over 400 pictures that I'd like to share with you. Don't worry, I won't be sharing ALL of them, but I will try and post several at a time in the coming days.

I also have a lot of catch up to do on reading many of the blogs that I follow, which I hope to do soon! I can't wait...I love reading your stuff!

For now, I'll leave you with this shot.

Happy Day!
