More Beach Photos

Last Saturday, Rob and I did a little site seeing/shopping and then went to dinner at one of my all time favorite restaurants in Depoe Bay called, Tidal Raves.

Kooky Goes to the Beach

Kooky was not about to be left home alone this past weekend. So he tagged along at the beach.

He seemed to enjoy himself...
He met some new friends...
Ate lots of food...
And was all tuckered out by the end of the day...
But I discovered, that he may have a fear of heights...

Happy day!

Fun Weekend

Rob & I got away to the beach this weekend.
Sunrise
Ocean View

The weather was beautiful Saturday morning. We took it easy - ate some breakfast and slept some more...then finally moseyed on our way to do some shopping and site seeing.
I asked Rob to try on this hunting jacket at Columbia Sportswear so I could take a picture. I was really surprised that he barely batted an eyelash. (Scary face...haha)
There was a kite festival of some sorts going on in town. We stopped and I jumped out to take a few snaps.
These flying frog kites crack me up!
Oops - one of the kites crashed...

I took lots of pictures of flowers that I'll show you in the coming days.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Happy day!

Color Splash

First off - thank you for giving your two cents regarding the Cups vs. No Cups Debate. You are all so creative & had some good ideas. For the time being, the cups have been removed. I actually do think it looks a lot better without them. (Sometimes I just need a little convincing). In all honesty, Rob was the one that didn't like them in the first place. I'm still thinking it may have to do with the fact that they were made in France as opposed to Italy. HA!

With summer at its end and the Fall/Winter Season upon us,  I decided to plant a couple pansies. I just love the color splash of orange & purple together.
I still have some residual flowers that should hold out until the first freeze.
Hope you have a lovely weekend! And if you can, go plant a flower or two.

Happy day!

I Need Your Opinion

Above our new table & chairs, Rob & I hung this mirror/coat rack.

Yep...you guessed it - Another Craigslist find! Originally, I purchased it, thinking it would be used for it's intended purchase - a coat rack & mirror for our small entry way. It just didn't look that good there, so Rob suggested that we hang it above the table.
I really like the look and feel of it! Kind of Old World/Italian. Don't you think? Well, here's the question. Do you like it with or without the cups hanging from the hooks?

With

or
Without
I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Actually, Rob is too! What do you think - cups or no cups? If you like them, do you think they are the right kind/color? Suggestions?

Thank you, friends. Have a good one! And don't forget to check your local Craigslist postings for some great finds!

Happy day!

Table & Chairs

I have another Craigslist find that I wanted to share with you. We were looking for a dining room set - table & chairs and had looked at furniture stores. A lot of the mid priced sets were junk! I was determined to find something better and cheaper on Craigslist. Finally, after looking for a while, I came across this one - it was a total blessing from God. The price was AMAZING!!! I was able to get it for $100! That's right! I have a hard time not sharing the price of things when they are an amazing deal.

Rob removed the old fabric from the seats. I washed the foam cushions in the bath tub & dried them in the dryer - took forever for that, by the way. Rob went with me to the fabric store & picked out the new fabric, which I really like. I was thankful to be able to use a 50% off coupon at JoAnn Fabrics, so it brought the price of the fabric way down - I think we spent a little over $30 on it.

With the new fabric, I recovered the chairs, with the help of my dear friend, Dawn - a.k.a. Mamabear's Den. She used her air compressor stapler gun.
So, here was the old cushion fabric:

And, here is the new:

The colors are much richer in person

The table came with 4 chairs & an extra leaf, so it will be perfect for years to come.

I'm so excited about this find. What about you? What's the best deal you've found on Craigslist?

Happy day!

Street of Dreams - Part IV

Now that you've seen the 1.7 Million Dollar Home from the The Street of Dreams,
Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, I thought it would be fun to show you a house that was priced at $148,000.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, comes with a kitchen &; living room area, at 1,250 square feet. Ideabox, is the name of the company that makes this green-living prefab home. It comes with an EPA Cool Roof, low solar gain windows, fiber cement panels & flat fiber cement lap siding.
The house was bright. All rooms had 8' tall glass doors, bringing the natural light indoors. In addition, bamboo flooring, quartz & concrete counters & maple built-ins were used.

The house had an IKEA-ish feeling to it - simple & clean lines. I wish I had taken more pictures of the interior. It was such a quick tour and it was the last house of the day. Plus, we had just come away from seeing the 1.7 million dollar home...so I wasn't quite as camera happy. You can check out the website for more photos at  Ideabox.

But, I did manage to get some shots of the landscaping. I thought it was pretty nice - had a dessert kind of feel to it, which went nicely with the whole green theme.

What did you think of this home? Could you live in this type of space?

Happy day!
