Monthly Photos (First 2 years)

For the 1st year of M's life, I took weekly photos of him lying on a blanket, fabric, or other backdrops in a onesie. Then, I'd snap a photo and would use photoshop to put the week & number on his shirt.

 

And...for the past 2 years, I've also taken monthly photos of him. I thought it would be fun to have a look back, especially since some of these photos I've never posted on my blog before.

Happy Weekend/Update

Beautiful Roses from Rob & Maximus


I thought I'd give an update on my pregnancy:

- I'm at 13 1/2 weeks.

- Last Wednesday we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the 1st time.

- I'm still feeling nauseous. Sometimes it's all day. But most of the time, it's in the afternoons and evenings. It makes it tough to figure out what to eat for dinner.

- Still very tired. I look forward to M's naptime so I can catch a few zz's most days.

- Speaking of Maximus...if you ask him what's in my tummy, he'll say, baby. He'll kiss my tummy and lay his head on me. Very sweet.

- We plan to find out the sex of the baby, which will be the 2nd week in April! Rob is convinced it's a boy. I'm thinking it might be a girl.


That's about it. I hope you're all having a good weekend. I've gotta run. My Mom is going to pick me up soon for a dessert & tea at her church. It should be fun.

Birthday Celebrations

Maximus had a busy birthday weekend. Thursday he enjoyed opening a couple gifts from us...a cash register.

And a toy leaf blower. It looks pretty real, huh?

 

Friday night we got together with my side of the family and celebrated.

 

Maximus was a little anxious to dig into the cake...

 

LITERALLY! haha...

Perhaps he was having flashbacks from his 1st Birthday.

 

He seemed a little disappointed that I wiped the frosting off his fingers.

 

On Sunday, we got together with Rob's family and celebrated both of the boys' birthdays!

 

Maximus looked like he had a secret to tell his cousin...but he was giving her a kiss.

 

It was a fun weekend!

Cardboard Box

Yesterday Maximus and I went to Costco. They put most of the things I purchased in a cardboard box. When we got home and I unloaded it, I tossed the box on the kitchen floor thinking M might have some fun with it.

He pretended to go "nigh nigh" in it.

Later he took it out of the kitchen and decided to chill with his shirt up. He has this fascination lately with his tummy. ha!

Then, last night he had some more fun, sitting in it and playing with some cups.

He even put it on the couch...

...and enjoyed a swig of some toy mustard. Silly boy.


He also threw a bunch of tools in the box and acted like he was a truck, backing up and making a beeping horn sound. Then he'd dump everything out. I think he was pretending to be a garbage truck.

He's so happy with the simple everyday things and it's so fun to watch his creative mind work. Even today...he was so excited to come downstairs when he got up. He went straight for the box!

Only 2 days before this guy turns 2 years old! No presents necesarry...just bring him a cardboard box.

Haircut

I took these photos with my cell phone...some of them didn't turn out that great, but I wanted to show you the before and after of M's first haircut. Okay, technically it wasn't his 1st cut...I've cut his bangs a few times before, but this felt a little more "official" this time.

We were going to wait until his 2nd birthday to do this, but ended up cutting it a couple weeks ago.

  After his haircut...All smiles! He was enjoying the water that Papa was pouring onto him.

 Very out of focus picture, but I thought it was quite funny. This was taken after we dried his hair and we were getting him ready for bed. He loves running around with or without a diaper. ha!

 Surprisingly, I haven't taken that many photos of him since his haircut. And I have gone back a few times with a scissors trying to even out spots that looked too long.

His hair has already grown about 1/2"! I kid you not! I am going to have to give it another trim soon. It's still on the longer side, but I think it suits him well.
