8 Weeks

I love to nuzzle against the side of Santino's neck and cheek when I'm holding him. He has the softest cheeks and they get lots of kisses!

This week he goes in for his 2 month check up at the Doctor. I am so curious to see how much weight he has gained. Next week I'll post on that.

When Santino sleeps, he can be quite noisy. He makes all sorts of smacking, grunting and snorting sounds. Rob says S sounds like a barking little dog.

The vacuum cleaner, dryer, music and sound machine help to calm him down when he's crying.

Santino loves looking at his Papa and smiles so much when Rob is holding him.

We are staying busy with laundry. It's an everyday occurrence, usually 2 - 3 loads a day. It's actually easier keeping up with the loads on a daily basis before it gets out of control. Yesterday was the first time since we brought Santino home that we didn't do any laundry. It was kind of nice taking a break from it.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Me & My Boys

Last week the boys and I had fun lying on a blanket and taking some photos.

Me and my baby!

Brothers

What are your plans this weekend? Anything exciting? Our weather forecast calls for storms. We are expected to get 2 - 4 inches of rain along with lots of wind this weekend. Looks like a perfect time to stay home and cozy up with my boys.

Happy day!

7 Weeks

Santino enjoys looking out the window when we're in the house. I'm not sure what all he's seeing but he likes the light. This goes for the TV as well. When he gets a view of the screen his eyes zone in on it. Hmmm...sounds like a typical male! ha!

He still takes a while to go down at night. It's usually 2 to 3 hours before he settles down and goes to sleep. Usually he falls asleep between 9:30 - 10:30 pm. He's still waking up to eat every 2 - 4 hours, on average, around the clock.

Santino likes the bath for the most part. As long as you're not cleaning his ears and face too much. If so, he'll let you know.

Hope you're having a good start to your week!

A Sweet Treasure

A dear blog friend, Penny, over at Angelsdoor surprised me a couple weeks ago by doing this sweet illustration of my boys and sending it to me in the mail.

It was inspired by this photo of my boys that I took soon after Santino was born.

I LOVE IT!!! Don't you? What a beautiful reminder I will have down the road of my boys at this age and the sweet friend that did this for me. Thank you so much, Penny!

You should check out Penny's blog if you've never been over there. She is an artist with many talents, including sculptures, paintings, needle felting & wall relief work.

I have to say that I'm amazed at the blogging community. Over the years I have developed some true friendships with some amazing women.

Thanks again, Penny!

6 Weeks

During his awake moments, Santino is quite alert. When I'm holding him in the glider, he stares at the photos on the wall and looks up at his name plaque above the door frame. The other day, when Rob had him in his arms, Santino kept looking at him and smiling.

Recently Santino's appetite has increased, leading me to believe that he is in that 6-8 week growth spurt. He is literally growing right before our very eyes!

In no time, he'll be chasing after Maximus and jumping with him, like a wild monkey on our bed!

I hope all of you had a good weekend. Rob's family came over on Saturday and we celebrated my upcoming birthday, on the 19th. This week, my best friend and her family is in town. I am so excited to be able to spend time with them and for them to meet Santino!!!

Have a wonderful week!

These Days

A lot of the photos I take of Santino are of him sleeping. And for the last couple of days he's been sleeping better. Yay! It's not because of the swing. NOPE! I am still keeping that in the closet until we REALLY need it. ha!

Maximus has adjusted to staying home a lot more than we did in the past. Oftentimes when I'm feeding Santino, Maximus wants to watch TV. And lately, he's been watching more than he has in the past. He loves the cartoon Caillou. It's his absolute favorite! At least it's a decent show and he learns things, so I don't feel so bad about it. He also enjoys Bob the Builder, as well as Thomas & Friends.

But, whenever M gets the chance to go outside, he gets excited. Before leaving the house, he typically asks to wear one of his hats.

His latest thing he wants to do is run up and down the sidewalk in front of our place.

As I mentioned before...this boy loves his hats! We've figured out the best way to ensure that he'll actually wear one, is to have him try it on before we buy it. If the hat gets his approval, he'll either keep it on his head or he'll throw it in the shopping cart. If he doesn't like it, he'll say, "No, I like dis hat."

Today we ended up getting lucky and seeing the garbage truck when we were outside.

I love this photo as he's watching the truck. He looks like a little man.

Life is good.
I love my boys!

5 Weeks

For the most part, Santino has been a good sleeper. The last several days, however, he has been a bit fussy and it's taken a great deal of coaxing at times to get him to go to sleep and to stay asleep. We are starting to think that it may be time to pull out the swing...

I'm beginning to have flashbacks of Maximus. He slept in that thing for nearly 6 months straight!

Stay tuned...(haha)

17 Years

First came love, then came marriage...then (MUCH later down the road), came the babies in the baby carriage.

Today Rob and I celebrate 17 years of marriage. I love you and our two sweet boys that we have been blessed with.

Love you, Robby (heart)!

4 Weeks

Y-A-W-N

(And that's just what I did when typing that word). This guy is keeping us tired around here, but he is totally worth it. I would say he's still a pretty good sleeper, waking up every 3 hours on average. But, when you're sharing a room with your baby, he's sure to wake both you and your husband up at night.

When I was pregnant with Santino, I noticed that he was the most active a couple hours after dinner with his kicks and movements. Outside the womb, he tends to be the same. Sometimes it can take around two hours to feed, change, burp, rock, walk, bounce, sing and dance with him before he goes back to sleep.

Santino loves to eat and I'm starting to notice that he's putting on some weight. That's part of the reason I love these weekly snaps of him, because you don't always notice the subtle changes day to day.

Both Rob and I are so grateful for people who have helped us out. Last week, my Mom went to the store for us, came over and did some laundry and helped out around the house. On Friday, I had a dear friend, Julie stop by in the morning. She brought over food that she made for us: chicken, scalloped potatoes, corn on the cob, chocolate chip cookies as well as pumpkin cream cheese muffins! She was a godsend to us. We had so much food, that it lasted three dinners. Plus, the leftovers tasted just as good, if not better each time we gobbled them up. Maximus especially enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies!!!

It is hard to believe that September is already here. Where has this year gone? It will be Christmas before you know it. How exciting!!!

Hope your week is off to a good start.

Happy day!
