The Coolest Thing Since Sliced Bread.....(well, maybe)

Do you find it annoying when you go to grab that roll of plastic wrap or aluminum foil and the stupid roll falls out, rolling onto the floor?? Well, have I got a solution for you!

Thanks to my Mom, who sent me an email several weeks back, I found a fix for this! The email was about these clever little thing-a-ma-jigs on the ends of the box that you punch in, to keep the roll secure and in place. Who even knew that these were ever there? The below picture shows the underside of a plastic wrap box. There are instructions for these things. Imagine that? Apparently I don't read every square inch of the things I buy. Do this to both ends of the box. It's a good way to punch out your aggressions!

I love diagrams that show you how to do things. I'm a visual person.

Voilà! Here's the end result. No more chasing those pesky rolls across the spotless floor that you just swept, mopped and waxed. (yeah, right).....

I haven't found these clever things on the wax paper that I buy. I'm not sure if that's true with all brands. Usually I buy whatever is on sale or the cheapest.

Hopefully this is a handy dandy tid bit that you can use...Or, maybe you knew this already....(smarty pants!!!)

Fun Weekend

This weekend we enjoyed visiting with a friend who came up from California. Friday night we had dinner at an Italian restaurant in town...It was funny how my husband and Dave share many of the same viewpoints. I felt a little bit outnumbered....Shirley, I almost called you, but it was late and I knew you weren't home. :)

Very random pictures at the restaurant....can you guess where we ate?

Heeeeeere's Johnny!", I mean Dave...

The "boys".....look they are both smiling....What's SO funny???

I couldn't resist a self timed photo....it was difficult to find a spot to set the camera. I think Rob is grimacing because I'm sitting on his left leg. The photo is obviously not centered; hence we are all to one side. Don’t laugh, because I used to take pictures like this when I was the one behind the camera. I'm learning....

We got to finish our weekend on Sunday with Dave coming to church with us. Afterwards, we grabbed some brunch with Kirsten who lives in town. It was fun to connect again. Sorry...I didn't bring my camera for that.

Dave, we hope you had a good weekend and make it home safely. Take care!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm not one that uses pet names much, but I do have one for my husband, (Rob). Sometimes I'll call him dork....I do....But I have another one too that's a little nicer; I call him heart. I started calling him this a long time ago...Oh, and I also call him Robby.

Since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share a picture of a stone that Rob found several years ago when we were walking on the beach with our friends, John & Shirley. It was a while back. Shirley, you might be able to help me with the year this took place. We all stayed down in Lincoln City...Do you remember?

Anyway.....he found this, and I was SO excited. I couldn't believe it! A heart shaped stone!!! I had called him heart for a long time before he ever found this stone, so it was such a surprising thing to receive!

It's the simple things in life that mean so much. I really love this stone...oh, and the guy that gave it to me. Happy Valentine's Day, Rob! (a.k.a. heart) :)

What season is it?

I love springtime, but really enjoy all seasons. Yesterday it snowed and today it turned out to be a sunny day towards the afternoon.

I went to see my mother-in-law and she gave me some tulip bulbs that were starting to sprout. I came home and planted them in a big container that has a Day Lilly in it. Let's see if the tulips bloom. The flowers are called Ebony & Ivory.....don't start me....I know, it reminds me of that song in the 70's or 80's....I'm losing track of time....what decade was that anyhow? Sorry, if I have you singing it now. Well, not really....misery loves company...hee, hee....

Here is a picture of the container...the flowers are planted around the edge. The little shoots that you see are most likely from the Day Lilly. That should come up late spring/early summer. Oh, and the little guy, he's my friend. I'll call him Herman...I don't know, I just made that up. It sounds like a good name for him.

Here I've started a blog, and I'm not sure what to really do with it. It's snowing today...or was snowing. I love the snow. I really do. Ask anyone I know and they will tell you that I do. My Mother-in-law doesn't like it. She thinks that I pray for snow. Maybe I do....I pray for a lot of things. How do YOU feel about snow?

BLOG = Blah, Blah, Blah....

Okay...this is my first post. I'm not sure what I'm doing or how I got sucked into doing this...ha, ha...just kidding. There are a few culprits out there that I can blame. To be perfectly honest, I used to get irritated with the whole "blog" thing and thought the word itself was so dumb. So, I would make fun of it, calling it "blah, blah, blah..." But now, who's the culprit? I have enjoyed following a few blogs, so maybe I'll give it a shot. :) I've succumbed to peer pressure....hee, hee....
