The Balloon vs. the Stroller

Yesterday I took Maximus to one of our favorite outdoor malls. Rob had been out of town and wasn't coming home until late last night so I thought it would be fun to get out. Plus, I wanted to go check out some dishes that I saw online at Crate & Barrel. The weather has been so nice here lately, high 70's, low 80's.

So, I put Maixmus in the umbrella stroller that I purchased the other day. It works great to have something compact for those short little jaunts. But, it wasn't too long before he got restless and wanted OUT! I tried holding him, but he wasn't into that either. Nope! He wanted to check out the stroller for himself.

Actually, he wanted to push it by himself. I thought perhaps the balloon would occupy his attention...

it did for about a minute, until he decided that having too hands free would be the most effective way to manuever his new toy.

If I would have let him, we'd probably still be there.

Here's a little video of him in action.

Linking up with Nancy's Photo Show & Tell post over at Small Things With Love.

GOOD MORNING YOU TWO! Oh, how I actually miss OUTDOOR MALLS! I remember when I was just a bit older than Maximus, my mother and I used to walk everywhere; she didn't drive so if she needed the slightest thing, we would walked what seemed like miles to go get it. In those days, it was simple store fronts along a busy main st., then the advent of the MALL, but out in L.A., they were outdoor malls. Then, we saw the first INDOOR mall come to town, which had followed in the footsteps of the FIRST INDOOR MALL BUILT IN AMERICA, which is HERE, in Edina, Minnesota: The Southdale Mall....

Speaking of malls, yes, we have the Mall of America here, but you are right my friend. Everyone I have approached about my art tells me the same thing. They have buyers that go to shows where artists pay to show their wares. Then buyers for these large corporations (or even small ones) do the buying. As I approach even the SMALL BUSINESSES, they too have buyers that have already stocked the stores up for the season.

Thank you for your encouragement. It is not easy out there......

Cute!!! Answering your question about where my camera was, I had it strapped around my neck and I grabbed her hands and spun her around and left my camera were it was! :) not a stupid question at all!

Good morning precious friend....

Thank you for visiting my post. I was and in a way, STILL feeling a little down about my art...not sure if it is appealing, but all artists have to and will always, STRUGGLE.

My attempt to share my blues was to at least create a poetic style post to basically say that I may have to give up my dream to get back to reality. We shall see!!! Anita
