A Sweet Treasure

A dear blog friend, Penny, over at Angelsdoor surprised me a couple weeks ago by doing this sweet illustration of my boys and sending it to me in the mail.

It was inspired by this photo of my boys that I took soon after Santino was born.

I LOVE IT!!! Don't you? What a beautiful reminder I will have down the road of my boys at this age and the sweet friend that did this for me. Thank you so much, Penny!

You should check out Penny's blog if you've never been over there. She is an artist with many talents, including sculptures, paintings, needle felting & wall relief work.

I have to say that I'm amazed at the blogging community. Over the years I have developed some true friendships with some amazing women.

Thanks again, Penny!

Dear Heidi,

How gorgeous the lovely picture is of your precious wee boys. Can't believe baby is 6 weeks - seems to have gone fast.
Penny is so very talented and always enjoy seeing her wonderful work and she is the sweetest friend.
Thanks for visiting me - we are on our way home having a 10 hour stopover at Bangkok - have a hotel room to rest and clean up.

Happy weekend and hope the family are all well
Hugs

GOOD MORNING MY DEAR ONE!

I am extremely touched to see how OUR lives connect. I have loved your blog and ALL OF YOU for how many years now? Then there's Penny.....a woman who I got to meet about 4 summers ago, a friend with whom we have chuckled, laughed, guffawed through our shenanigans in NOWHERE, and a true friend and sister. You should see the lovely art I have bought from her, and also that she has sent me. I have a cabinet dedicated to NOWHERE and beyond....

Maximus and little Santino are beautifully rendered with the strokes of love in this illustration. Penny has what I call an uncorrupted art form. Each piece has an innocence that has brought me to tears at times....last year, she did a post on a little lamb that she fashioned and that piece spoke to me so strongly. Do you know what she did? She made me a little book of the blog post with photos of the lamb. If I pull out the book from the cabinet to read it, I just tear up. This is art. It speaks to the special part of you that envelopes your humanity.

Dear friend, I thank you for coming by; school is awesome but challenging in that I have a lot of computer details to learn. I LOVE teaching 8th graders (Maximus and Santino will be the most darling 8th graders!) and the seniors. I love teaching French, writing, and just living this life that JESUS gave me.

Bless you dear friend. Anita

How sweet of Penny to draw this picture of your boys and send it to you. She is one of the nicest women in blogland, and such a talented artist. This is such a special reminder to you of how Maximus and Santino looked and the love big brother had when his baby brother was born. What a treasure, indeed.

Have a nice weekend, Heidi.

Love,
~Sheri

Oh Heidi! That is a marvelous gift! You have great blog buddies and you are one of mine, that's for sure! I am so pleased that you have two wonderful, healthy sons and that you get to be a Mommy these days. I am sure your sons will grow up to be marvelous men, just because, and I always say this; there is a certain type of woman that is able to be a mother to sons. God has blessed you with these little ones because he trusts you to be a wonderful Mom and teacher and guide for them in their lives. Awh, now I'm going to cry... ♥
